Definition
Observability is the platform capability that collects, stores, and visualizes operational telemetry: logs, metrics, and traces. Keymate uses an OpenTelemetry-first approach — all telemetry flows through the OpenTelemetry standard, enabling export to any compatible backend.
Observability is separate from the Audit Collector. The Audit Collector captures authorization decision records for compliance. Observability covers general platform health signals: application logs, infrastructure metrics, and distributed request traces.
